Question about RAM
Hi! Your motherboard only supports DDR3, so you'll need to stick with that. Between the two Hyperx RAMs you found—8GB at 1866 MHz and 2x4GB at 1660 MHz—choose based on your needs. The 8GB should be enough for most tasks, while the 4GB pair offers more memory if you're planning to upgrade later. Pick what fits your current requirements best.
For dual channel performance, a configuration with two 4GB drives is ideal.
I understand, but don't spend too much since you're definitely planning to upgrade the PC.
It seems your current setup is limited, but you're considering upgrading soon. The cost for two 4GB DDR3 RAM sticks at 1600MHz is about $50 USD, which is reasonable for a budget upgrade. Hyper X models are also available within this range.
I don't have a current RAM reading. Mixing different RAM models isn't advised.
That's correct. It varies by system. Some titles need at least 16GB RAM, but it also depends on your graphics card and processor performance. I might be able to assist. My setup is an older Xeon Haswell CPU with up to 3.9GHz turbo, 4 cores/8 threads, essentially an i7-4770 with VT-x and D support, paired with a Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H board, 16GB RAM (1600 or 1866). Edit: I have an E3-1275 V3 CPU without integrated graphics.
