here's my build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Kqckwz I ordered all my parts, only waiting for my CPU to get here. I got 32gbx2 ram (64gb) beacuse I want to have availability to upgrade to 128. I got G.Skil TridentZ RGB DDR4-3600 CL18 My question is should I go for lower CL rating like cl 14 or 16 and 3200 mhz does the new AMD CPUs like faster mhz or lower CL? I also wonder if that ram I got will work with my motherboard. I was looking at G.SKILL Trident Z Neo Series is optimized for AMD x570 chipset. This is the other ram I'm talking about. https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-64gb-288-...6820232952 The picture I attached is the Trident Z Neo Series specs

Ryzen processors benefit greatly from quicker RAM speeds. That’s essentially what I understand about these chips.

It depends on your needs. If you need more memory for running multiple programs or large files, keeping RAM is better. If you're using a low-end system and don't require heavy multitasking, a smaller RAM might suffice.

I believe a quicker speed is preferable, so I’d choose that approach and opt for faster RAM.

Your current memory isn’t ideal for the required speed. I’ve noticed cheaper options that would work better. The second set is decent but limited to just 2 sticks, which isn’t enough. (More sticks would boost performance a lot) Are you aiming for a huge number of Chrome tabs open at once?

You're aiming for a bigger upgrade from 64GB to 128GB. For a 5800X series processor, a 16GB or 32GB RAM module would be a solid choice to ensure smooth performance.

It seems like you're considering a 3600 MHz frequency with 16 channels. The concern might stem from the 18 CL rating, but 3600 MHz is quite high for typical consumer applications.

Yeah, but what are you using it for? If you're just gaming, then it's an utter waste of money for capacity you'll never use, at the additional price of substandard performance. CL isn't the only timings that matter. It's because it's 18-22-22, which is only poor quality RAM chips. If it was 18-20-20, then it wouldn't be so bad, but as it is, that's probably unstable timings as-is. I got 3600 16-16-16 because it was both the highest performing RAM available at that time, and because it's Samsung B-die RAM chips, so it can be overclocked without voltage increase, or undervoltage at the same timings. It was one of the most expensive RAM kits available at the time. Now it's just in the top few for performance, along with several other kits. Best kits right now: 3200 14-14-14 3600 16-16-16 3800 14-16-16 (this is now the best, and the most expensive) None of those kits come in capacities above 16GB per module however as far as I can tell, so you're not going above 64GB with this level of performance. These will give as much as 5% better framerates in games, (compared to your current RAM) and if using 4 modules, will give an extra 3-5% on top of that.

Considering the release of DDR5 next year, it might make sense to hold off if you're not ready yet.
