Question about Ram
Question about Ram
I'm planning to assemble my first PC in a couple of weeks. I have a Ryzen 5 3600 B450 Tomahawk Max with an RX 2070 Super and two options: a Trident Z Neo 3600MHz case with 18GB RAM (DDR4, 2 modules) or a Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz case with 16GB RAM. I'm not very experienced with case latencies and would appreciate your advice. Since I mainly use the PC for gaming, any guidance on performance would be helpful.
CAS latency refers to the time your computer spends choosing a memory address in clock cycles. Typically, lower CAS latency means quicker performance. But this can be confusing since a higher CAS latency at a faster clock speed might actually result in faster operation when measured in nanoseconds. ~Note: CAS 18 at 3600 MHz equals 10 ns, while CAS 16 at 3200 MHz also gives 10 ns. Thus, the actual delay remains identical, though the quicker RAM offers greater bandwidth.
Save your performance and patience by avoiding RGB tools; stick to the software you’re already using for better FPS.
