I've been operating my system on a 1TB SSD for some time and am looking to add more storage without replacing the original drive or reinstalling everything. My motherboard supports multiple M.2 slots, so I've thought about RAID but haven't used it recently. Can I configure RAID on a system with a partitioned SSD? Also, would I need an identical-sized SSD or can a larger one work? I just want to increase storage simply by RAID 0.

Sounds good. I might take the longer drive route then. (I have a lot of game mods for older games that don’t like being messed with, lol). Do you have any suggestions for good cloning software? Preferably something free?

For cloning purposes, either Macrium Reflect or Samsung Magician (when targeting a Samsung device) should be used.

The cloning process worked smoothly, and everything appeared normal until the clone disabled BitLocker on the new drive. I had to re-enable it, which seemed to complete without problems. I successfully retrieved my identifier and recovery key. After restarting the PC as prompted, it reported that the boot device was either "unattached or inaccessible," preventing access to my system. I've tried various troubleshooting steps and am seeking advice on how to recover from this issue, especially since I prefer a full reinstall of Windows along with all my games and mods. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as I haven't faced this problem with BitLocker before!

Only one C drive is permitted.
You may need to reformat the existing C drive for extra space.
Or, delete it and retain it as a backup copy.
