Hi, I’m trying to install a WiFi card on my system but facing a space problem. The motherboard has a Gigabyte B550 DS3H GPU, and the ASUS PCE-AX3000 is in the smaller slot next to it. My GPU fits there, but I’m wondering if I can move the WiFi card to the lowest slot instead. Would that work? Or should I consider getting a riser for the GPU and adjusting its placement? If so, which riser would you recommend?
You can insert any card into any compartment, provided it fits mechanically. However, place your GPU in the upper slot since it receives the most PCIe connections.
It should work fine with a PCIe slot. Your observation about people buying these compact top-down coolers is interesting—many seem to prefer them despite higher costs. These are actually quite common choices, especially since better options like the 14$ thermal tower cooler are more expensive and quieter. It’s been this way for a while now. Just curious, what model are you considering?
Thanks for the feedback. I assumed it would be the same, but wasn't entirely convinced. After adjusting the cooler, I was aiming for a slightly smaller model that still offered better performance than my current one. I was considering a smaller size to explore options under 20 quid, which had positive reviews. It performed well and didn’t push thermal limits too much. My main aim is to move toward a full custom loop setup, though I’m not quite there yet. Appreciate the support!
You've experienced many loops, but they're just a pointless money grab. Modern air cooling is really effective and affordable now. GPUs have also become much quieter thanks to better cooling solutions, which makes the whole setup more practical. Only invest when you have a lot of money and high-end components. Just remember, people won't pay extra for it.
