Hi everyone,

I recently purchased and put together a new system. I don’t play games; I mainly use it for training large language models and generative AI during my free time, but most of the time it’s for work.

Everything was functioning well for the first two weeks until I decided to reset my computer after uninstalling a program. At that point, a screen appeared showing a failed RAM overclock, which had been operating perfectly for the entire two weeks. Since then, I haven’t managed to get it to start up properly. The motherboard’s EZ Debug LEDs are flashing a red light indicating a CPU problem.

Here are the details of my setup:
- Motherboard: MSI Z790 Edge
- Cooling: Corsair iCUE H170i Elite LCD XT 420mm
- CPU: Intel i9-12900K
- RAM: 64 GB Trident Z5 Royal DDR5-6400 CL32
- SSD: 2 TB Sabrent Rocket 4 NVMe
- GPU: Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 32 GB
- PSU: be quiet! Pure Power 12 1000W
- Case: Cooler Master Cosmos C700M

I’ve attempted to clear the CMOS by removing the battery and holding the reset button for 30 seconds, but nothing changed. The system doesn’t even emit a beep—it just shows a red CPU light on the motherboard. The BIOS seems to have an issue; the BIOS Flashback button isn’t present at all, even though it should be there. When I tried flashing the BIOS manually before it stopped working, it didn’t make any difference. Going through the RMA process is becoming increasingly frustrating.

My situation is tough because this computer is crucial for my job. I live in a remote area with no nearby micro centers or even a Walmart. The nearest family members are hundreds of miles away. I’m feeling really stressed and overwhelmed right now.

Do anyone have any advice or troubleshooting steps I could try to fix this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you a lot! 🙏😿
I’d really appreciate your help.

Attempted placing a stick in slot A2 first. If unsuccessful, try resetting CMOS again. I question if this is BIOS firmware unless you altered it. The socket (12, 13, 14) shows warping signs; it's likely your motherboard has been damaged. Consider checking Amazon for an Intel LGA1700 Thermaltake contact frame—it’s affordable and could fix the problem. Poor CPU contact may affect RAM and cause CPU issues. Also, confirm whether you have a z690 or z790 model. Your post and title seem contradictory.
