Question about linking a Hitachi/LG portable Blu-Ray/DVD writer.
Hello dear friend,
How are you managing?
Thank you for assisting everyone with their PC issues.
I’m preparing a final test to showcase your impressive skills.
Can you handle something truly significant?
I’ve been trying various fixes—including regedit, changing case settings, and removing everything possible—but nothing seems to work.
Even after reinstalling Windows 11 Home on both my laptops (MSI GE66 Raider 10SFS and MSI GL66 Pulse 12UGK), none of them recognize the devices I’m using.
Both laptops have USB2.0 and USB3.1 ports, but they fail to detect anything, and the device manager shows nothing despite all drivers being installed and updated.
If one drive is faulty, I can’t assume all six are affected.
But here’s a curious point: I can open HL devices by pressing a button on them.
Please take your time. If you manage to resolve this and get the HL BP55EB40 visible in Windows Explorer and Device Manager, I truly appreciate your effort.
OK?
Best wishes,
Themevictory
When linking the USB cable, do you connect both USB-A (the larger ones) connectors to your laptop or PC?
Hey there!
Thanks for your reply.
I believe the setup is a "Y" cable featuring one micro USB at one end and two USB-A at the other.
One USB-A provides power, while the other handles data transfer between PC and HL driver.
Of course I've attached both ends. It works the same on all 6 HLs.
Thanks again!
Have a great Sunday!!!
I was familiar with the Y cable, but I don’t know much about powered USB hubs. Can you help?
They require power to function and can operate without external connections. Have you attempted linking each unit to a distinct USB configuration?
You're right to consider that. I should clarify whether having both red and blue USB ports is necessary or if the suggested model already provides sufficient power.
