Question about hotspots
Hey everyone, I'm experiencing some issues with my new Wi-Fi card. It's not working well—sometimes it disconnects after just a few seconds, other times it takes minutes or even hours. I've noticed this with my Samsung Note 8 when I use the hotspot feature. When I connect another device to the same hotspot, I assume it's copying the signal, but it seems like it's not sharing properly. Even though my data speed is decent (around 5 down 2), I'm having trouble getting a stable connection. Can someone explain how the signal behaves in this setup?
I haven't heard of smartphones using just one WiFi antenna to link to your home network and share a hotspot. Typically, to share 3G/4G/LTE, you set up a hotspot via your antenna while devices connect through cellular data. Alternatively, you can use Bluetooth or USB to tether and connect via the WiFi antenna to your home network.
Yes, when connected to WiFi and your device activates the hotspot, it displays a warning: "Wi-Fi must be disabled to use Mobile Hotspot."
