today i attempted to overclock my GPU to 1542 mhz and increased RAM to 2000mhz with 110 power on EVGA precision x16. I followed a YouTube tutorial. After the change, i noticed some artifacts and driver crashes, especially games crashing at the same time. Once the OC was done, i ran a benchmark and GPU temperatures stayed between 61-65% under full load. I reset it to default and haven’t tried again until someone helps me, because i’m new to overclocking and really scared—i don’t want to lose this card. Four years ago, i lost a GPU because of an OC too.
adjust the settings gradually until the artifacts and crashes disappear. not every card reaches the same level. i'd anticipate around 1500 for a g1.
