Question about Ghost Recon Wildlands crashing following the intro.
Hi
Game starts working properly and runs smoothly until I reach the intro cinematic, then I press "continue campaign" and it crashes to the desktop. Updated drivers were installed and reinstalled on the C drive, but the issue persists—crashes right after loading screen. No clear cause yet.
Specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-core
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING ATX AM4
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
Storage: Western Digital Blue SN550 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME SSD
Storage: Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD
Video Card: MSI GeForce RTX 3070 8 GB Gaming X Trio
Power Supply: Corsair RM (2019) 750 W, 80+ Gold Certified, fully modular ATX
I’m still unsure what’s triggering the problem.
I looked into where the installer came from for the game. Since you mentioned needing updated drivers, I checked the official website and supported forums to confirm the correct download source for your GPU.
Have you verified your MB BIOS version to ensure you have the latest CPU microcode? Also, confirm that all required components in the redist folder are present (Visual Studio, NET Framework, DirectX files). The best method for installing GPU drivers is to remove the previous ones using DDU in safe mode and then install the newest versions from Nvidia's website.
If you pass all the other requirements (installer, hardware, stable OS and drivers, overheating, then possibly incorrect graphics settings for your hardware configuration and monitor).
Even the legitimate copy of GR Wildlands has problems, but they can be fixed by searching online to find a solution.
I completed that game a while back, hope you get the chance to play and maybe you can finish it as well.
