Question about DRAM Voltage and Overclocking RAM (XMP)
Question about DRAM Voltage and Overclocking RAM (XMP)
My main option is to purchase three additional sticks? I purchased a 1600 MHz 1x8, but it's capped at 799 MHz unless I increase the DRAM voltage and enable XMP.
I own a Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5 motherboard along with an i7 4790K processor running at 4.00GHz.
Double Data Rate (ddr) indicates more than just 799; it displays half of the frequency shown on the sticker of the ram. It actually shows 1600 MHz, though it's displaying only half of that value.
Alrighty, i am not to fond of burning down my PC, so i'll just have to keep it the way it is. I guess the only thing to do is to wait till i want to buy a new one. This one is 5 years old btw...
