Question about DOOM CD keys
Question about DOOM CD keys
I bought two copies of Doom 4, but I can't return them. I'm wondering if I can sell them to someone on campus by just sharing the code, or do I still need the physical disc? I also want to know why I should ask for help online when I think the answer isn't there. I don’t want to waste time searching, but I’m not sure this is the right place.
Doom needs Steam, I purchased a physical version. To address the question, provide the key. Sharing the disc will reduce the download duration by roughly 50GB minus 8GB.
The software should be exchanged on Steam because the multiplayer feature depends on Steamworks. It should be okay to sell it there. Keep in mind the disc likely won’t work for that version since it’s tied to one user account, so you can’t share codes and discs together.
It seems the process is quick and straightforward. You essentially hand over the key to someone, who then registers it on Steam, and you can download it without needing a physical disc.
I'm unsure about the details, but it seems like I might have made a mistake. I have two physical copies of Doom. One version uses a code and runs without the disc, while the other does require the disc. I gave the disc to a friend for free without the code. Now I need to install the game on my PC using the second copy. I want to keep the disc but give the code. After reading your comment, I figured it works if I plug the disc from the second game into my computer. So I can just share the code now. In short, the disc doesn't seem to be tied to an account, though I'm not sure. Thanks for the advice!
Sure, that's the situation. If everyone bought the physical version, they'd pay less for two copies at once. I kept the disc mainly to reduce the strain on my HDD during loading times.
THE GAME IS THE ESSENTIAL...the DISC ONLY HELPS YOU AVOID THE DOWNLOAD...THE VALUE IS MUCH HIGHER...THE DISC IS MINIMAL IN WORTH.
