You're facing a compatibility issue with your Ryzen 5 3600 upgrade. The motherboard requires BIOS version 7A38v2I, but your current BIOS is 7A38v28. The MSI website shows no update for v2I, which means the BIOS might not be supported as-is. You should update your BIOS to the latest version compatible with both your CPU and motherboard. Check MSI's official support page or contact their support for confirmation.

I'd update it regardless.

Here are some BIOS updating advice, keep it or ignore it. If you don’t have a UPS, install one. Power fluctuations during BIOS flashing could damage your board. UPS devices are affordable but can prevent future issues. Stick to the steps and double-check them. (RTFM) Adhering to the process—writing notes and marking completed items—helps avoid missing critical actions. Capture photos of your previous BIOS setup, particularly any unusual configurations you modified. Upgrading BIOS may reset certain settings based on your hardware and the upgrade tool’s behavior.

It seems your BIOS might not be compatible with this update. It was launched more than a year prior to the 3600 release. Please install the most recent BIOS.
