Hey, I'm currently installing Windows on my Mac Book Air. (It's taking a long time because of the slow internet connection.) I was thinking about trying it before, since my laptop only has a 128GB SSD and Windows requires around 50GB. Last time I tried, it said there wasn't enough space to download. Do you think it's possible to run it from a USB drive? That way, when I need Windows, I could just plug it in and use the version I have installed. I only really need it for two of the ten programs I'm using.

Windows operates smoothly on a 50GB drive. I use a dedicated 50GB partition on my 2016 MacBook Pro.

Windows operates efficiently even with smaller storage spaces. I've worked with a 25GB or 30GB partition before.

yeah lol. That's why I don't run windows 10 off my macbook's internal ssd (also 128 gb), I use an external 256gb samsung T3 ssd.

Hey, maybe I'm just being a bit anxious. I just put Windows on my Mac Book Air, which has only a 128SSD model and limited space. Can Windows really run there? It might make the device heat up more. (It's around the middle top of the keyboard.) I thought it could be overreacting, but after installing it, the laptop felt warmer than before. I turned it off after the install because it got too hot. I only need it for Excel, since other programs were causing issues and generating extra heat. I'm not sure if it'll make things worse.

Windows typically demands more processing power and consumes more system resources compared to macOS. Running it on a Mac shouldn’t lead to overheating, just normal performance differences.

Thank you for your responses! It's understandable to feel concerned when something costs a lot of effort to acquire. Being gentle with it is important, but it seems you've put in a lot of work.

It seems the system was just set up and Windows is attempting to connect with Microsoft to manage various background processes. Once complete, it should begin to stabilize.

Another inquiry, thank you. Would it produce extra warmth even without using Windows, only on macOS while having Windows installed on the same drive? Or would it stop entirely if I’m not connected to it? Apologies for these beginner questions—I’m new to this.
