Question about Asus strix z790-e motherboard
Your symptoms suggest a damaged pin in the CPU socket. It’s simple if you don’t drop the chip properly and have to move it around to fit. Your motherboard will indicate which two slots are needed for dual-channel performance. If possible, share some high-resolution images of the socket; this might help identify any bent pins. They often can be straightened using a needle. If everything seems fine, proceed with memtest. A clean pass with no errors means you’re good to go. Verify dual-channel operation using cpu-Z.
I handled the CPU socket with great care. Two boards were provided, yet the error code 55 persisted. The Corsair H150 Elite Capillax box is installed in the CPU case, but the fans remain inactive. Power is connected via SATA and USB header on the motherboard, yet it still doesn't activate.
Did you reinstall the BIOS following the update? What BIOS version is currently displayed?
After updating the BIOS, it immediately returned to the standard configurations.
Just because the pc starts up doesn't guarantee the ram is in good condition. Run memtest thoroughly to ensure no errors occur. A clean result means a possible slot problem. It's odd you're encountering issues on two different boards. Consider whether the 14900K was used or obtained from an unauthorized source. Products from the 13/14th generation have often been damaged by aggressive overclocking. If the 12900k works fine, it points to a processor defect and should be returned via RMA, as it remains under warranty.
He upgraded my computer to the intel 265 series and z890, and I received 14700k for an upgrade. I tested two different RAM modules that worked with the motherboards, but they still showed the same error code 55. It seems I might be making a mistake.
Maybe the issue isn't with the CPU socket connections, but rather with a scratch or thermal paste on the processor pads.
i
on two boards highly unlikely. I noticed the other day that when i turn it on it wa going thru a series of codes on the board and it seemed like it was confused. Seems to be a power issue to me. MY cooler fans are not spinning but my front fans are spinning. All of the fans are plugged in the commander core for corsair h150 elite capillax system. not sure if something is wrong with the commander core since the other fans are spinning
