Hello everyone
I’m planning to purchase a used Asus ROG Strix G16 with an i9 13th Gen 13980HX and RTX 4070. The price is quite reasonable at $750.
The seller says everything is functioning properly, but I’ve heard that the Intel 13th Gen CPU can cause application and game crashes. Have these issues been resolved, or should I avoid buying it due to this problem?
If the fixes were implemented, did they reduce the CPU’s performance? By how much?
I’ll pick it up tomorrow morning.
Please help me out and let me know your thoughts.
Thanks.

I would not recommend purchasing a second-hand laptop with a 13th Intel gen processor. I encountered a nearly US$3,000 Zephyrus M16 GU603Z that stopped working during tasks and never restarted. After thorough diagnostics, it was discovered there was a short circuit in the processor, making a new motherboard or rewiring impractical.

I plan to pick it up tomorrow morning. Consider buying something new or opt for an AMD model.
