Looking to enhance gaming performance, especially for Fortnite and BF5. From what I've learned, raising the CPU to around 4.0 should be safe. Anyone know if Bios Version 3003 could assist in reaching that setting? Thanks!

I think setting "High Performance" in the Windows power plan would lock the CPU at 4GHz since that’s the default boost speed.
For overclocking, it should be as straightforward as using the AI Tweaker section.
Activate "manual" mode under "AI overclock"... I’m not sure of the exact wording.
Adjust the CPU Ratio, and you’ll see "CPU voltage" on the screen.
This should work well for a quick and rough overclock—especially if you aim to go beyond 4GHz.

Hey Barty, thanks for your response. The CPU is indeed running at 3.7, and 4.0 seems safe to try. I plan to use the high performance mode in Windows, as the manual settings in AI Overclock caused it to restart back to 3.7 after just basic tweaks. I’ll give it another shot. Cheers!

Nope. Enabling high performance mode by itself won't make it run at turbo frequency. You must also use Phenommsmartweaker (it works for athletics and phenom's), adjust all P-states to the turbo voltage and frequency, click the small button, check the box to load settings at startup, and press apply. Do this once you've set everything to high performance.

Refer to your motherboard manual and adjust settings in BIOS. The 860k in my lab ran smoothly at 4.5GHz, but higher speeds would slow down. These chips also perform well with quick low latency RAM. I successfully used DDR3-2400CL9 without issues.
