Hello everyone, I’m reaching out for assistance today.
I’m attempting to upgrade my CPU from a Ryzen 5 2600X to a Ryzen 5 5600 (Non-X).
The BIOS was updated to version 5.60, but after installing the new processor it immediately entered a Post-Loop and stopped responding. I’ve tested various configurations—using just one RAM stick, all possible slot combinations, unplugging peripherals, SSDs, even disconnecting the GPU—but nothing appears on the screen. It restarts repeatedly until everything seems to work again.
I removed the CMOS battery, loaded the default settings from the old CPU before swapping, and then re-flashed the BIOS to 5.60 to check if that would help. Still, no improvement. I’ve tried everything I could think of.

Update: After reinstalling the previous CPU, the RAM frequency remains stuck at 2133mhz (functioned properly with BIOS 5.60) and Windows now displays 8GB as "Hardware Reserved."

Here’s my current setup for reference:
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600
GPU: RX 6700 XT
PSU: DeepCool PX-850-G (850w)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x8) DDR4 3000mhz
MOBO: Asrock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4
SSD: Samsung SSD 980 1TB
HDD: 2TB

Have you considered setting up a fresh copy of Windows?

Hello, the problem doesn't appear to be related to Windows, as the memtest86 results indicated only 8GB memory, even though both SPDs display it and the BIOS shows both options. An update is that a single memory stick won't allow POST on B1 or B2, but works with one stick for A1 and A2. I also checked if the old CPU had bent pins, which seem fine to my observation. When both sticks are placed in A1 and B1, the system successfully posts with 16GB on Windows.

It appears the problem could stem from a faulty motherboard, is there any remaining warranty coverage?

Highly likely the motherboard was the problem, especially since I didn't have any warranty for more than three years.
Recent update: replaced the motherboard and also replaced the CPU to avoid further risks. The system is now functioning properly.
I could try diagnosing the issue or using it as a test bench later.
Appreciate your response!
