I'm having trouble understanding this PSU. The model is Cougar GEX 850, and I'm unsure whether its fan blows air out or draws it in.

To the best of my understanding, every PSU fan functions as an intake fan.

Both options have mesh screens for air intake, and the top part includes open areas for intake fans. Which one is better depends on your specific needs.

I would position the fan downward to allow air from the bottom or outside to enter. Putting it up and drawing air in from inside would slightly reduce cooling because you'd be bringing in warmer air into the PSU.
