My PC in the lounge (mainly media PC) has been experiencing some problems recently. I'm unsure how to proceed with troubleshooting. I've noticed that occasionally when I start the PC, the GPU 'hangs' and the screen stays black. After turning it off and on again, it boots normally (BIOS and startup functions are working). The device also displayed a blue screen once when someone used Parsec. Normally, the GPU temperature isn't high, but during the blue screen it reported around 50-60°C. The BSOD error shown was 'nvlddmkm'. I'm currently at work and no one is available to share detailed information about the device or errors. Any suggestions on what to check for potential bigger issues would be very helpful. Thanks.

the psu might be faulty or the ram could be corrupted. it's possible the psu model is outdated. try using one ram stick at a time and switch between them to see if the issue persists. if it still crashes, scan your ram.

That's roughly what I was considering—I'll have to tackle it over the weekend.
There seems to be a method for checking if PUS/RAM is failing through a program, though I'm not sure how to confirm if it's corrupted or not.

If the RAM is corrupt, run a memory test on each stick; otherwise, you can't really check the PSU but warranty indicators are useful. Older PSUs should be replaced immediately if on a dual-rail system. What is the PSU model?

It was the PCI port. The connector is broken, and whenever I plug anything in or touch it, the GPU turns off if the PC is on.
I might have to buy a new motherboard to fix this unless I can locate an external GPU enclosure at a much lower price, or just use the built-in GPU. Ewww

What is the make and model of all your components? For a media PC, integrated graphics might be sufficient.
