Question about 7800X3D setup and chipset details
I own a 7800X3D and this setup was added during a chipset installation (version 5.05.16.529), which I believe may affect my 3D V-Cache on the CPU. It seems to turn it off completely? This feature appears to be specific to the 7900X3D and 7950X3D models...? In Task Manager, does a 3D V-Cache process require a Windows reinstall to work properly? Should I disable game mode or is that unnecessary? I think I've been reading too much. Right now, I don’t notice any improvement in performance across games since installing this chipset driver. I’ve only enabled PBO and CO. I just want to confirm the 3D V-Cache is functioning as intended.
What is this about? You mentioned needing to install the latest chipset driver. It seems there might be some confusion regarding the 7950x3D setup. You have a 7800x3D with only one CCD and the 3D V-Cache already in place—nothing needs changing. Are you asking for clarification on performance comparisons or system details?
My previous setup was a 3900X. I no longer use DaVinci, so I upgraded to the 7800X3D since gaming and streaming make up about 90% of my needs. Can you tell me how to confirm if the 3D V-Cache is actually engaged and functioning properly? Full details are available but I kept it simple for you. The system runs on an Asus TUF B650 with a 7800X3D, paired with Corsair Dominator 32GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM, 2x16GB, plus an NVMe SSD and a 500GB OS NVMe drive. The display supports 3440x1440 ultra-wide resolution.
Sure thing. I figured I'd post here similar to Reddit comments about single CCD chips like the 7800X3D. You're right, everyone knows your stuff—hope that helps. I haven't seen any performance boosts in games lately. If I can find a new chipset, I'll install it. The AMD site keeps pumping adrenaline. Thanks for getting it straight, and appreciate the fast reply!
