Hello
I just upgraded my system with a 7900 XTX and a 5700X3D.
I found out in forums that the 5700 wouldn’t limit my GPU, but in my setup I’m seeing 60-80% usage.
When playing Battlefield 2042 at 1440p and 4K, I still can’t reach maximum performance.
I was expecting around 40-50 fps in city mode.
I’ve reinstalled all drivers and run a Windows repair, but I don’t want a full system reset.
System specs remain the same.

Prior to the upgrade, my vehicle was a 5600X and a 4060ti.

It should work without issues, though the X3D cache might not be used in every situation, which could lead to some performance hiccups. Still, it should be a solid configuration overall.

There's always going to be a bottleneck somewhere, as long as your framerate is acceptable forget it and move on.

All UE games perform much better on Linux. If you have the chance, I can demonstrate it firsthand. However, please allow some time to set up a distro known for its poor performance with UE game installation.

So here is Alone In The Dark operating on Fedora 42 on my machine.

This is the setup for Windows users generally.
Finding the best solution to avoid FPS drops? :: Alone in the Dark Bugs & Technical Issues
I'm having a decent gaming experience but it's not very smooth. It's running on a 3070 GPU and although it's playable, there are occasional stutters throughout the game. Particularly bothersome during cutscenes. Anyone have an idea about what might be causing the most performance issues in the graphics settings so I can adjust it?

Hey, another game that's not well optimized with Unreal Engine and full of stutters is available. https://www.dsogaming.com/pc-performance...-analysis/

The problem seems to be with the engine, not the hardware, and it disappeared on Linux.
I suggest choosing a gaming-oriented distribution if you decide this way, like Nobara 42 or Bazzite, as Fedora 42 is just a base system. I had to install everything myself to get things running properly.
Old titles such as Fallout or Skyrim also perform better under Linux, too.
