Question 5070 Ti Variants, are they really important?
I've been thinking about a significant upgrade from my RTX 1060 6GB. It took some time to decide between the RX 9070 XT and the 5070 Ti, and even now I'm not completely sure. However, Nvidia's recent advancements in RT and frame generation have made the 5070 Ti more appealing. I won't waste time on unnecessary details.
I've discovered several options around the MSRP, and I'm okay with paying an extra £20. I've narrowed it down to five choices.
Gainward Phoenix V1
MSI Ventus 3X OC
Palit GamingPro Blackwell (non-OC) - OC version is unavailable
PNY Epic‑X RGB OC Plus
Zotac Solid Core OC
My priorities are: performance, temperature/cooling, noise levels, and appearance. Looking cool isn't my main concern, but all these options seem visually appealing to me.
I plan to install a new power supply, likely around 850W, and pair it with a Ryzen 5 7500f. That will be my next upgrade, probably moving to a 9800x3D. Thanks.
1)Unless you're comparing different tiers(70, 70Ti, 80, etc), performance is identical.
2)Usually, the more expensive models have better coolers - USUALLY; sometimes, vendors make the fan shrouds too big, hindering cooling... other times, the cooler used for the pre-overclocked models is insufficient(but it may run just fine with the OC removed).
3)Subjective/objective topic; there's distance to consider, individual sensitivities to fan acoustics, and regardless of model, you control fan curves anyway.
4)Aye, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Finding reviews under the same reviewer would help some, as they're more likely to be tested under the same conditions.
I had no luck when searching. That would've helped with points 2 and 3...
This may be down to which of those 2 GPUs you like the look of more.
