Hi, here are your current specs:
- RTX 2080 Ti
- 7800x3D
- 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30
- 850W 80+Gold

Monitor:
- Alienware AW2725DF 1440p 360Hz OLED

You’re asking about upgrading to either the RTX 5070 Ti or 5080. Since you mainly play competitive games at high settings, you’ll want a GPU that can handle 360fps at 1440p. I’m also interested in singleplayer titles, so a 50 series model would be ideal. Your current games include CS2, Apex Legends, Fragpunk, COD, and Battlefield.

Based on hardware unboxed's assessment, the 5080 performs about 13% better than the 5070ti at 1440p. However, any suggestion will hinge on the available prices, as MSRP isn't consistently defined.

Edit: My own view, without knowing the current pricing, is to opt for the 5070ti and avoid worrying about the cost difference.

the price gap is £950 and then rises to £1200, i know the £250 for 13% is quite high but I'm just checking if the 5070 ti will cover my full needs with 360hz at 1440p.

No. But then there really isn't anything on the market that can push a 1440p 360hz display at max settings. If you want 360 FPS+, you will just have to lower settings. And then the GPU matters less and less. I would also look at a 5070 Ti, since it is basically a 4070 Ti Super / 4080 in terms of performance. Just like last generation the 5080 costs too much.

yeah, i mentioned playing on competitive settings except for singleplayer games. also noticed the 5070 ti with an overclock is just behind the 5080 in performance.

The actual tournament participants rely on minimal details at 1080p, but the 5070ti is an exception.
