Hi everyone, I'm looking for a suitable ATX replacement for my ASAX B550m Pro4. I was thinking Asrock B550 Extreme 4 or B550 Taichi would work well. Do you have any better suggestions or examples? My goal is to get three USB 2.0 ports, and my current board only has two. Thanks! Sincerely, Radek
It would be more economical to include a USB PCI card if it fits your device.
Are you looking for an additional USB controller or simply more connection points?
More ports actually I meant I wanted to switch boards because my tower case is too big. I have an RGB hub connected to a port and another pump or RGB from the NZXT Kraken X63, but I'm missing one more port for something else... I probably forgot what it was, but I think it was also related to RGB. Anyway, if I already have a big case, I could always replace it with an ATX instead of what I currently have. But when comparing other boards, mine looks decent and I can't find anything better or similar except for models over 300E like MSI Unify or MSI Carbon WiFi. So I decided to stick with the same branding, which is why I chose Extreme4 or Taichi, both under 200E. I'm not really an overclocker, so I don't need something super powerful... In the future I thought about upgrading my CPU from R7 5800X to R7 5800X3D.
The pro4 is capable of managing that CPU. It might be smarter to use an internal hub or, as @TylerD321 mentioned, a PCIe USB carrier board.
