Prices vary widely, but for gaming and browsing, the 3700x remains unmatched at its retail cost. A Gigabyte motherboard works fine if you’re not using an x570 board. If I could spend $1000, I’d build a system with a 3700x/x570 combo—paired with a Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVMe drive and 32GB of 3600MHz RAM. This setup should stay solid for at least five years.
