Hi guys, ever since I started building my PC, it just wasn't working well enough. Games kept stuttering and the GPU cable was disconnected. The GPU problem is actually fixed now; I just needed a new cable. But then another issue appeared: random apps are crashing and restarting. Discord, Opera GX, etc., all have crashes. FPS drops and stutters happen in multiple games like FC24 and Rocket League. I'm out of ideas what could be wrong, does anyone have suggestions? My build details: Motherboard is an MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI, RAM is 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 at 6400 MHz, CPU is Intel Core i9-14900K. I have two SSDs: one Samsung 970 EVO plus for Windows only and another Samsung 990 PRO for everything else. The power supply is a Corsair RM1000e, the CPU cooler is an NZXT Kraken Elite 360, the GPU is an MSI GeForce RTX 4080 Super with a 16G ventus 3X OC fan, and the BIOS version is 7E06vAF. The case is an NZXT H9 Flow. If I didn't work so hard this summer to buy and build this PC, I would have already thrown it out of the window. Thanks in advance for any help!

using simple, everyday words:

Random apps like Discord or Opera GX are crashing and restarting. Are your system reboots or programs stopping? Your motherboard says "MSI PRO Z790-P WIFI" with BIOS version 7E06vAF. You have another update pending for BIOS. All I needed was a new cable. Do you mean a power supply harness, or a riser cable to hang your GPU higher up? Maybe remove all graphics card drivers (Intel, AMD, and Nvidia) in Safe Mode first, then install the newest driver from the official site as an administrator. If that breaks things, try version 566.36 instead.

SSD1: Samsung SSD 970 EVO plus 500 GB (for Windows only). Did you check with Samsung's Magician app to see if there are any firmware updates? What computer system are you using?

The system restarts or does the application turn on? You got one more BIOS update waiting. I'll do it tomorrow =) Do you mean a power supply harness or a vertical GPU riser cable? A new power cable connecting the GPU to the PSU It might help if you take all your driver software out of Safe Mode, then manually install the latest NVIDIA driver using an elevated command like Right Click Installer > Run as Administrator. If that causes trouble, try version 566.36. I'll do it tomorrow Did you check Samsung's Magician app for firmware updates? What OS are we working with? No new updates, just Windows 11 Thanks in advance!
