Query Ryzen 5800x on MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus with MMO BIOS - not starting up
currently i own an alienware aurora r10.
i have a ryzen 5800x, 2x16gb hyperx fury ram, and a 3060ti.
because the system runs hot and makes a lot of noise, i plan to upgrade it with a new motherboard and case.
i purchased the msi mpg b550 gaming plus motherboard, corsair rm750e psu, and arctic liquid freezer 3 aio.
i assembled the setup on my table first, then moved it into the case.
after some troubles, i flashed the latest bios using flashback.
now, when only the cpu is active, the debug led switches between cpu and dram.
so far everything seems normal.
but whenever ram is installed—even just one or two sticks—the cpu led activates, quickly jumps to dram, then back to cpu and stays there.
what could be causing this? is it related to the ram?
for now i’m keeping the hardware in the alienware, which is working well.
i think i read something about hyperx dell having differences from regular hyperx products… could that be the issue?
i don’t have access to any other ram.
initial startup might require some time, helping to strengthen your recall. You might attempt using a single stick in the A2 slot if it allows posting.
the process would randomly restart several times while learning.
that didn't occur during the ten odd minutes I waited... I asked for a new motherboard from Amazon. Hope this resolves the issue, otherwise I'll have to look for a different set of RAM, I suppose.
