Hello, I own an Intel i7-10700K CPU and an ASUS ROG MAXIMUS XII FORMULA motherboard. 1) Concern: If I use a dual-channel setup and add RAM plus four slots, could there be any issues? 2) Concern: With the Intel Core i7-10700K and one of the DDR4 RAM options (2133, 2666, 2933, 3200, 3600, 3800), will my system face problems? Specifically, will it run smoothly or experience low performance? The Intel website lists the CPU and mentions memory specs: up to 128 GB, DDR4-2933, two channels, 45.8 GB/s bandwidth, no ECC support.

no issues, employing four memory sticks equates to two dual channels. slots 2 and 4 function together, while slots 1 and 3 operate in pairs. i could be misinterpreting your query, but are you checking if the system supports a single stick? if yes, then it can work with one stick. ideally, choose slot number 2 (from the left/CPU side). also, having two sticks at least in slots 2 and 4 is recommended, as most modern systems gain advantages from dual channel memory.

Certainly, you're right. You could also opt for a 2x16GB configuration, which would give you 32GB overall while leaving two slots available on the motherboard for future upgrades.
