Have you explored turning off Global Illumination? Disabling it boosts performance by 13 FPS at 1280 x 1024, 17 FPS at 720p and 19 FPS at 800 x 600.

Interesting. These effects only slightly change frame rate, around one fps each, so keeping them on is fine. It seems you've reduced the resolution to 80, which is essentially the same as dropping from 720p to 800 x 600. The screenshot appears distorted in those settings, but turning off the RTX seems to improve the display.

Appearance appears low quality due to a resolution setting of 80 instead of the recommended 100. Adjust it to 800 x 600 for clearer visuals. Enable God Rays and Bloom for a noticeable impact on frame rate—around 1 fps per effect. If you don’t want them, turn them off. For optimal performance, play at 720p with Global Illumination disabled, achieving 40–50 fps. With Global Illumination enabled, expect 26–35 fps. I favor either setting, especially with RTX graphics. The game feels smooth enough on a console and looks great in 1440p at 1000 fps. If I complete this demo before the Steam sale, I might consider Quake 2 if it’s available.
