Hi everyone
I have the following setup:
Q9550
ASUS P5B Deluxe
2x2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR-800 (5-5-5-18 1.8V)
Cooler Master Hyper H412R
Open air testbed with 3 120mm fans directly overhead
I'm looking to boost my Q9550's speed, aiming for around 3.8ghz, but I'm struggling to get stable overclock results. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

You'll see that few people are keen on assisting with overclocking the old processor.
I own this one as well.
It’s a Q9550-65W, GA-EP45-DS4, paired with a 4GB GeIL Black Dragon DDR2 PC2-6400 and a Corsair AX760 80 PLUS Platinum.
For me, there’s no need to upgrade it—though I could do it easily for my current tasks.
I’ve already boosted it to 3.65Ghz, and everything runs smoothly. The temperatures are ideal. Some benchmarks say it matches an i5-4570, but stability above 3.65 is challenging.
My current configuration includes:
- Robust graphic booster with AUTO mode
- Clock ratio set to 8X
- Fine clock ratio at +0.5
- Frequency at 430MHz
- PCIe speed of 100...

My configuration looks like this:
Settings I’m using:
- robust graphic booster - AUTO
- clock ratio: 8X
- fine clock ratio: +0.5
- frequency: 430
- pcie frequency: 100
- cia2: DISABLED
- performance enhance: STANDARD
- memory multiplier: 2.00
- memory frequency: 860
- dram timing selectable: AUTO
- cpu voltage: 1,225

These values come from a different site used by another user.
So far everything seems fine.
