Hi,
I have a Q9400 paired with an MSI G41M-S01, manufacturer number ms7592 version 5.1.
I want to overclock it and bought a Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO cooler.
But whenever I go past a FSB value of 342, the system crashes and doesn’t reboot—about ten times before that happens.
I’m having trouble finding a way to adjust the core voltage safely.
Can you help me find a stable but effective overclock?

Is this your motherboard?
If it matches, then the VRMs lack heatsinks and the power supply is at most 3+1 phase. Any modifications would need to be made via the "Cell" menu. Not having that option isn’t unexpected.

You're likely hitting the hardware limits. This board isn't built for overclocking. Weak phase power and missing heat sinks on the VRMs.

You've likely hit the hardware limit. This board isn't built for overclocking. The phase power is weak and there are no heat sinks on the VRMs. I don't think that's the issue. The motherboard actually has heatsinks on the VRMs, and my power supply is definitely powerful enough—750 watts. Also, in my previous questions I mentioned not being able to locate the core voltage adjuster in the BIOS.

The motherboard actually has heatsinks on the VRMs, and my power supply is definitely powerful enough—750 watts.
