Hi,
I’m facing an issue while trying to overclock my old Q6600 at 2.4GHz.
My setup includes:
motherboard: asus striker II formula
ram: 6GB DDR2
upgraded zalman cpu cooler (idle temps around 27°C)
BIOS version is phoenix-awardbios v6, which displays FSB for all cores instead of per-core.
I’ve experimented with different multipliers, only x6 and x9 managed to run for over 5 minutes, but stability remains a challenge. I was aiming for 3.0GHz.
I left my Vcore and memory voltage set to auto, and tried various FSB:mem ratios without success. Each time I adjusted specific voltages (like 1,325 for my Vcore), the system would refuse to boot, forcing me to reset the BIOS.
I’m seeking advice on suitable voltages and FSB:mem ratios for this hardware and this BIOS version.

I want to overclock my CPU to 3.0ghz, so I adjusted my FSB QDR to 1333 (4 cores x 333 FSB), using an x9 multiplier. After that, I experimented with RAM settings first—tried 1333mhz without success, then lowered it to 800mhz also without results. I also tweaked parameters like C1E and speedstep as suggested in the guide. The reboot process is left to auto, because my monitor fails to power on when I change CPU or RAM voltages. Depending on BIOS settings, I sometimes see a blue screen (usually after about 20 seconds after boot), but most of the time the system runs, though the monitor disconnects, like the GPU is disconnected. Does this relate to my GPU configuration?
