Does XTU change the BIOS that comes with your computer maker? Can you go back to the factory settings if XTU messes things up after I overclock, and how do I do it?
XTU changed the BIOS from Windows, but the BIOS actually controls those settings. Resetting the BIOS should bring everything back to normal stock settings, yet nothing seems to have happened and I don't know why. At this point I'm guessing that default settings won't work. You could try reinstalling the BIOS, though there are risks even if they are small because something going wrong might stop the whole laptop from working.
I deleted XTU and reset my BIOS settings. Now I see an Intel XTU folder in C:\Program Data\Intel\XTU, which is running in the background by another program that holds logs and profiles. I tried deleting it but cannot find a way to remove it completely. Is this causing problems? Will resetting everything back to default solve this issue?
