Hello! You're moving to the US from Japan and are setting up a new computer. I've bought the parts needed for Windows 10. I'm looking for affordable Japanese versions of Windows 10 and want to know if it will affect typing with US layouts. Also, I need to check if a US version can run Japanese games or software. Any advice would be great!

I wouldn't choose the Japanese version of Windows 10 because it might disrupt the keyboard layout. However, you can still run Japanese software and games in Windows 10 as long as the OS is compatible and it's not region-locked. Be aware there could be issues with the keyboard layout.

Purchasing from Japan allows you to use the English version. Windows lacks region-based DRM.

He purchases a product key tailored to a specific edition. This limits him to either Home or Pro versions, with no further restrictions. He may install either the 32-bit or 64-bit format and choose any language—English, Japanese, Russian, or Korean—as desired, but only one language can be active at once.

On my previous W7 CD box, it mentions this Windows version can only be used in Southeast Asia (I was in Malaysia at the time). Perhaps someone could help activate it in Japan and then bring it to the US.

Was das die Home Basic-Version? Sie hatte regionale Einschränkungen. 10 ist nicht betroffen.

It was home premium. But I guess you could be right with W10.since it's a free upgrade for some people to begin with,no point to restrict it geographically

I hope Microsoft would support Windows 10 in the same way everywhere
