You're considering upgrading to an 8GB RAM module. It's the same Corsair Vengeance series, so performance should be similar. The key difference is capacity—8GB vs. 4GB. Since you're already at 8GB, adding another 8GB will double your total memory, which can improve multitasking and gaming performance.

Need more storage? A second 2x4GB drive would be better. The single 8GB wouldn't work well with dual channels, which could cause problems.

With 8GB sticks arranged in a 8-4-8-4 pattern, they function properly at the base JEDEC speed.

You have an ASUS B350M motherboard with a 2x4 RAM setup. You plan to upgrade to 2x8 RAM and have two extra slots available. It might affect performance depending on the compatibility of your new RAM with those slots. Make sure the new RAM matches the specifications for those slots.

Their starting frequency is 2400MHz, they’d maintain that pace without issues. Alternatively, you might consider purchasing an extra 2x4 for stability.

Speed issues wouldn't arise, but having 16GB RAM exceeds your requirements. Consider upgrading to 2x4GB for better performance. Pairing it with another 8GB in dual-channel mode can enhance overall speed. Adjust your memory settings to 2666MHz for optimal results with Ryzen processors.

It's fine, they'll run that no problem. At most they'll run 2133 until you manually select 2400MHz

Thanks! I understand you're looking for the 1x8 option since it's cheaper than the 2x4, and you'd prefer the 2x8 over the 2x4.
