Hi, So I purchased a 4th gen intel with a 1050ti for my youngest. Whenever they run Fortnite I get the below message. I am not using a VPN and my fibre BB is perfect. Does a way exist to know for sure if it is a hardware ban or not? If it is I will pressure the seller to take the item back. Thanks

Reach out to Epic and mention you purchased a used PC. Inquire if there are any problems with it. If everything seems fine, proceed but be prepared to return it anyway—unless it has an i7 4770 or 4790, which won’t handle modern games like Fortnite well.

Hardware restrictions are completely unfair and should be banned. One device doesn’t represent one person’s identity, and actions taken by a single user shouldn’t lead to automatic bans on products you’ve purchased. If Epic doesn’t offer parole, the easiest workaround is altering your MAC address, updating your BIOS settings, and adjusting storage or reinstalling Windows.
