Pump sound in Fractal Celsius S36 model
Hello, i recently got a Fractal Celsius S36 AIO, but noticed a weird noise coming from the pump. Here is a short record of the noise (you probably need headphones, dunno how to make it louder sorry): SndUp | Post info . The sound is recorded with the microphone directly at the pump, which is running at full rpm. Unplugging the pump immediately stops the noise, so yea its the pump. At lower rpm the noise is still there but much less frequent. Other than that the cooling seems to be as expected and not impaired at all by that noise. Can someone tell me if this is just the normal working sound of the pump or if its defective in some way? Thanks in advance.
Currently I removed it because I was worried it might leak liquid. However, I installed it exactly as the manual indicated on the Intel socket. I heard the noise coming from there, near where the pump sits in my hand. The sound is similar to what I experienced during installation.
I'm keeping it operational now, possibly with some air in the pump. The sound seems more like a mechanical one.
Also consider reducing the pump pressure below the feeding levels for the rad...
I left it running outside the case for some time to check for leaks, then put it back inside the CPU. The strange sound is still there but the closed case looks fine. My 8700k is running at 4.8 ghz with 1.290 volts and in Cinebench it bounces between 70-75c on auto mode. The fans are almost silent at this point. Considering the fan noise, those temperatures seem normal. I think the pump is still working for now.
