Pubg has several problems, but most show up only when you're playing. The settings file is located at C:\Users\*YOU*\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor. I adjusted a few things there that improved my game experience, though I don’t know much about anything else except the engine.ini setting smoothframerate = true helps too.
I kept it stable after switching RAM from 8 to 16GB. The performance jumped noticeably, reaching over 100 FPS on high settings, though it occasionally drops to the 90s.
Fixed: unclear about the process, just experimented with the game's user editor ini file inside appdata. Game works fine, though not ideal. Minimum 30fps at high settings, but GPU needs are much lower.
It's a mid-range consumer build, but the high-end options are top-tier or HEDT models like X99, X199, or X399. I didn't mean to be negative. Ultimately, the game suffers from numerous issues—on my friend's system it runs over 100 FPS, but on my machine the GPU can't reach full usage and drops to around 45 FPS instead of the expected 100. I believe there are serious hardware compatibility problems across most setups because testing isn't widespread enough to fix them. If you own the tested hardware, you're in a good position; otherwise, it's a tough situation.
it's not just about beta testing. I don't understand what they did with the engine. other games using Unreal Engine at default settings didn't face these issues. they adjusted things for the desired look and feel, but something broke during development.
