PSU/GPU mobo issue?
PSU/GPU mobo issue?
Hello Friends. My laptop took a hard hit when it fell from my table while I was working on my monitor cable. At first everything seemed fine, but after a few hours it would freeze during games and then restart. Sometimes strange blue-green streaks appeared on the screen before it restarts again. Restarting only happens when I play games, not when using the desktop. Recently, I encountered another issue: after launching a game, it automatically switched to the Alt tab. This has been happening for about two weeks and is really frustrating. I've searched online but nothing seems to fix it. Could you help? Your support would mean a lot. Thanks!
You might want to check if your current motherboard or power supply can handle an additional GPU. If not, consider upgrading separately or consult a technician.
Did you verify every cable and the GPU after repositioning them? It could be that they became loose or the PCIe slot was harmed.
Thank you for your response. The only visible issue is a scratch on the exterior; everything else appears intact. Determining if the PCIe slot is damaged isn't possible without further inspection.
Inspect the graphics card and examine it closely. Verify that the card is securely installed.
You confirmed the GPU is fully seated in the PCIe slot. It’s normal for it to shift slightly and could be due to heat buildup during operation. You might also try removing it completely, checking for cracks near the PCB latch, and seeing if the slot appears damaged.
