Hi there,
I’m planning to upgrade my PSU...it’s been a long time coming, but I need something more powerful. I’m considering an 850W modular unit for future upgrades. I currently have a 10600K and a 3060Ti, but I’m still using the old adaptor (it’s been two years now!). First, I want to know if any PSU comes with a 12-pin cable, and second, if I switch to an ATX 3.0 PSU, would the 12VHPWR cable fit my GPU? I think it might not, due to the sensor interfering with the connection. My preferred options are Corsair RMx, MSI MPG, or NZXT.
3060ti features 8 pin power connections, so a 12 pin adapter won't fit. You don't need a costly 3.0 PSU unless you intend to install a new GPU soon—it's not really necessary. Unless you're planning a future upgrade, it's not worth the expense.
I own the FE card with a 12-pin connection. That PSU seems fine, but since I'm in the UK the price here is £184. I was considering Corsair 850 RMx for £135, NZXT 850 for £110 or MSI MPG ATX 3.0 for £160. My main concern is that a 12-pin cable from Corsair would add an extra £20 plus shipping, so if there was a PSU included with it, it might be a more attractive option.

i'd choose the RMx over the other two if they were available to me.
you could opt for an atx 3.0 unit, but it would be expensive.
i'm not a big fan of adapters, but if it's a high-quality unit like the RMx, then using one for the 12-pin setup isn't too bad.
Thanks, yes I plan to go for the RMx. It seems there won’t be a PSU with the cable included, so I’ll have to either accept the poor Nvidia adapter or purchase an expensive replacement from Cablemod or similar.

but I ended up picking the Thermaltake GF1 850 Gold, available for £99, which was too tempting to pass up at that price. It claims to be a Tier A PSU on Cultists, comes with a 10-year warranty, and uses Japanese capacitors—definitely looks solid.
I received the same one and I'm okay with it so far. The only issue was the 24-pin mobi connection—it feels like a strange way to split the cable. I couldn't manage to hide it behind the mobo because of the unusual splits.
See how it functions in my system first, currently with braided cable extensions; they might be useful if required.
