I’m going to upgrade my Corsair CORSIAIR CV550 80 Plus Bronze to a Corsair CX750 750W. Can anyone confirm if this change is feasible without issues? Please let me know if there are any considerations or adjustments needed for your build. This means it's significantly more efficient and consumes less power when idle or operating in low loads.
Regarding compatibility, your current power supply is a full-size ATX unit, so the new one will fit perfectly. Direct swap except... If the supplies are modular, install the new cables and conceal the old ones. I was planning to recommend a 750w power supply. I prefer going overkill. My setup includes a 5950x, RTX3080ti with OC at 32gigs of DDR4, two Nvme drives, and two BR optical drives. The power supply is 1200w.
Yes, there is no need to run anything extra. Just ensure you plug in your 24 pin for your motherboard on the right hand side, your CPU power in the top left, and any other cables for storage drives, fans, and power for your video card. Here's a
