I need a power supply unit to run my system. Here are the details:
cpu: i7 2600
gpu: rx 580 (msi oc edition)
ram: 8gb
os: Windows 10 pro
drives: 500gb hdd, 500gb ssd
mobo: optiplex 790 mt
I require a psu for this PC. I won’t be upgrading components later on for clear reasons. Just throwing spare parts around for my little brother’s gaming setup. I was considering a $50 msi mag a550 but if anyone has a better option, preferably cheaper, please let me know. I’m assuming I could use a psu with lower wattage.
It's good to proceed with the MSI PSU you mentioned, but what spare parts would you like included? If I were you, I'd choose a model with more wattage, around 650W, rated 80+ Gold so it can be moved to another build later. Something like this:

But if anyone has a better option—especially cheaper ones—I'd appreciate the suggestion. I'm thinking of using a PSU with lower wattage, maybe not as powerful. You can't go below that unless your card isn't power-hungry and you're okay with a less reliable unit.
