basically my PC stopped working yesterday on the log in page. After resetting the white light on my MSI motherboard it turned on and showed VGA. I initially believed the PCIe slot was damaged, so I tried my 970 and it functioned properly. Then I thought the GPU might be faulty since it worked on a friend's system, but it wasn't the GPU either.

I'm 99% confident the issue is with the power supply unit, specifically a C tier Gigabyte P650B I've owned since 2020, which still works with my 970. I found two PSUs around 100 euros each.

Seasonic GM g12 750w
Corsair RM750e

I'm almost sure the Seasonic is B tier and the Corsair is A tier. Is there a notable difference between them besides modularity? This will also be a step toward upgrading to an RTX 4080 later.

Note: Using hwinfo revealed my CPU is hitting power limits under heavy load, though it might just be the motherboard. I'm not sure if that's a PSU problem either, but it's possible.

Specs:
I7-10700f
RX6700XT
32GB ram
MSI B460 PRO
2hdds
1sata ssd
1nvme

Check the calculators to determine the right PSU size. Wattage matters, but focus on reliability. Consider spending more for better value.

Both options are budget tier 80+ Gold from their companies and B tier. In general, I’d choose the Corsair since there are more reviews about it. However, for around 100 Euros you could likely find this PSU which performs better than either of them.
