I’m aware the build lacks a GPU yet, but it includes built-in graphics, so functionality should remain intact. After building the PC, I tested the power supply and confirmed the fan activated with the provided 24-pin tester. I placed the CPU in place, applied thermal paste, added RAM, installed the M.2 drive, mounted the motherboard, connected all cables, and tried to power it up. Despite turning it on, the PSU wouldn’t start. After removing the 24-pin connector and reinserting it, I used a screwdriver to test the power button pins on the motherboard—still no response. I also swapped RAM configurations and removed the heat sink, double-checked connections, and verified the CPU pins. The power indicator lit briefly but the system remained unresponsive. I suspect the PSU might be faulty or incompatible, possibly due to age or incompatibility. Updating the BIOS could help, but if the PSU won’t engage, switching PSUs might resolve the issue.
The i5 13400F lacks an integrated graphics card, meaning you’ll need a separate discrete GPU to produce a display output. The lack of a GPU might actually be causing the system to fail. Updated October 1, 2024 by Average Nerd
