PS4 controller compatible with Steam platform
Games often misinterpret my input as mouse and keyboard actions, keeping the icons in KB+M format. While some buttons work, Steam still uses the desktop profile, treating the analog stick like a mouse and swapping certain buttons. To fix this, you’ll need to adjust your setup settings.
Activate the controller and right-click a game in your library to open edit steam controller configuration. You have options to modify settings or select a standard template by choosing templates and picking a default controller. For non-Steam games, ensure the game is added to Steam; for UWP titles, use Ds4Windows. Inside a game, press the PS button to access the overlay and further adjust controller settings within the application.
It seems quite unusual. Maybe you could try ds4windows instead. Do you know if you're using the newest Steam beta?
I opted for stable solutions, though using ds4windows caused additional issues.
DS4Windows will make your controller behave like an Xbox 360 controller. You must turn on the option to hide DS4Controller in the settings menu; otherwise, issues may arise. Regarding Steam, confirm each game is configured to use it as a controller, since this needs to be set individually per title. Here’s the download link: http://ds4windows.com/ If you attempt it again, ensure the "Hide PS4 controller" option is selected in the menu. At the bottom of the window, you should see "Using exclusive mode." If not, exit Steam and Origin, then restart and try once more.
