Have you tried Project Cars yet? How does it stack up against Gran Turismo 5? I’m considering getting it, but I already own GT5 and know the game’s car selection isn’t extensive in Project Cars. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

It's essentially an improved NFS version: Shift 2

Let me simplify this for you. Project Cars fits into the SimCade racing games group, blending elements of simulation and arcade racing but leaning more toward a sim than high-end titles like Gran Turismo. You’ll probably find it challenging because you’ll need to brake more often. The graphics and audio are top-notch, though they reflect the gap between generations. AI performance is likely to be the worst you’ll face in any racing game. Avoid aggressive overtaking moves—they can wipe you off the track. Currently, there are 60 cars in the game plus four with the pre-order pack, and an additional one each month for a year. Don’t worry about DLC; track counts are impressive, and console track quality is unmatched. On PC, Assetto Corsa and iRacing perform best thanks to laser scanning, though I’d skip iRacing due to safety concerns. Track numbers matter more in sim racing than in car games, which explains the identity issue. The campaign has some solid ideas but could use better execution, similar to Gran Turismo but with team-based play. In short: Console offers the most realistic circuit experience—great if you own one. On PC, consider other titles or wait for sales.

I come from a background in automotive work and enjoy both building and driving cars, which makes me appreciate the blend of hands-on experience and performance. Project cars don’t stand out to me at all. I haven’t found a racing sim that rivals Forza (fuck horizon). The car customization options in project cars are minimal, and overall quality feels average. Plus, the car choices are very limited with little variation between models. If you're on PC, go for Assettto Corsa—it’s better than Project Cars despite my many complaints about it.

I completely understand your point, I'm happy I didn't purchase it and instead used the demo version.

It looks like you're weighing two options: Project Cars for PS4 and Assetto Corsa for PC. Your system has an 8320 GPU with an R9 280, which is a solid setup. Let me check if it can handle Assetto Corsa at full settings.

You can view my parts list in my profile and everything looks good, I think I used the highest settings. Your system seems quite similar to mine, so you should be able to run it near the maximum. Just keep in mind that Assetto Corsa is at least in my opinion very challenging to configure with wheels or pedals and isn't very intuitive. I purchased it a few months ago but couldn't get my wheel to work and often struggled to get it running at all, so I eventually gave up. Be prepared to be patient with it.

Absolutely not! Here’s a rephrased version of your thoughts:

It’s really disappointing. This could be a major issue for me. If I’m willing to spend around fifty dollars on such a game, I need it to fit my setup perfectly. I think that’s essential for truly enjoying the experience. What made the setup particularly challenging?

you cant max it, id say you would have to play at similar settings to me so no depth of field, no motion blur and static reflections. It still looks great, the best thing about AC is that it will last much longer due to mod support

which wheel do you have same question what wheel do you have Reason i ask this is because i've played this game with four wheels now each one has been detected, you can also download profiles online for wheels that weren't supported out of the box. I've tried the driving force gt,g27, thrustmaster t300, t500
