I explored a system I couldn't find a fix for... and I'm getting older. I bought myself an X99 Huananzhi board (f8) with an E5 2680V4 featuring 14 cores and 28 threads. It's running smoothly. I've enabled VTd and IO. My issue is... I installed Proxmox, experimented with TrueNAS and other virtualized setups, and it works perfectly. This is the path I'm aiming for. I have a few LSI controllers, so my idea was to transfer the controller to the Truenas VM, keeping everything enabled on the board. I thought it would be straightforward. But it says IOMMU isn't detected. I added an Intel_IOMMU=on element in the areas described in the manual, but I still don’t see it showing up. I reviewed the complete Proxmox documentation, checked many forums, and even reinstalled Proxmox (though the installer didn’t offer any BIOS or UEFI options). I’m certain the virtualization is active on my motherboard and should function, but I'm still struggling.

Hey everyone, I'm writing this post and the server is rebooting again. I think I did something correct, but it accepted the PCI without the IOMMU warning. Thanks for understanding, and I really wish I could figure out what fixed it myself.

Checking if your motherboard remains functional is a good idea before purchasing.
