Provide guidance on building a system with AdviceNew.
Hello everyone! I've previously sought guidance from the community, and everyone was extremely supportive. Thank you for that. I'm still looking for some advice and recommendations.
I'm planning to assemble a new balanced setup for various purposes: daily tasks, gaming, academic work (Office Suite, video streaming, Webex, Zoom, minor video editing, etc.).
Approximate purchase time:
I'm thinking of buying it in December or shortly after New Year's Eve.
Budget range:
Around 2000 euros is acceptable, with a little extra (or less) not being a problem.
Priority of system usage:
Gaming, Office Suite, conference calls, video streaming, and general browsing are my main concerns.
Monitor:
Yes, preferably 27 inches.
Parts to upgrade:
Everything.
OS purchase:
No need for an operating system upgrade.
Recommended parts sources:
Some well-known stores in Greece are:
- www.e-shop.gr (offers good SSD deals)
Location:
Greece, Athens.
Preferred brands:
I haven't had any bad experiences with Intel or Gigabyte, but I'm open to suggestions.
Overclocking:
No.
SLI or Crossfire:
No.
Monitor resolution:
Minimum 1920x1080, as long as it's comfortable for my eyes (I spend much time on screens).
Additional notes:
I don't mind flashy colors or RGB, but I'd be happy to have some. My goal is to play modern games like Baldur's Gate and Starfield well—smooth performance and good graphics are enough. I also need the ability to multitask: working in Word, streaming, and sharing screens.
Most importantly, why am I upgrading?
I've had my old PC for about 7 years, and it feels time has passed. With so many options now, it's overwhelming! Also, I'd like the new system to last at least five years without a major overhaul.
I've already selected some components, but if you have any other ideas, please feel free to share.
Thank you!
Some might suggest steering clear of CPUs with the F suffix due to their lack of integrated graphics. You won't need liquid cooling for these processors, yet there could be a strong preference for liquid cooling systems.
Dully mentioned that F. Will transition to using only K models. Regarding the liquid cooler, I understand it might be excessive, but since summer temperatures consistently range from 38 to 43 degrees Celsius (100-109°F), I prefer to be cautious. However, if you recommend an airflow cooler that can handle performance in these conditions, I would appreciate your suggestion!
The case supports air coolers up to 170 mm in height, ensuring compatibility with nearly any air cooler. For optimal performance, consider DeepCool options (Assassin models or AK 620; possibly others). If you prioritize quiet operation and can afford it, Noctua models like D15 dual tower, U14 single tower, or D12L dual tower are excellent choices. Keep in mind your comfort with temperatures and your readiness to handle liquid cooling upkeep and potential failures. If a cardiac issue could arise from specific temperature ranges, opt for the highest quality liquid—regardless of perceived practicality. Your personal comfort and peace of mind should be the top priority.
Don't misunderstand, I don't really focus on liquid cooling. As long as an air fan does the job, I'm all in! The Noctua D15 looks like a solid choice, and I'll keep looking for more options. Thanks for the ideas!

Thank you for your feedback Lucky_SLS! The Ryzen 7 7800X3D was my initial pick too, though I had concerns about the "meltdown" issues that occurred some time ago (gamers nexus has a detailed playlist on YT about it). It seems things have improved, but it remains a bit of a concern. Any advice? Also, I understand AMD offers top gaming processors, but they seem to struggle with office work. This is what I've heard and read online.
Test these parts at your chosen online stores. The 120mm fan fits inside the rear compartment of that case for a rear exhaust fan.
