I noticed a similar discussion earlier. To address your query, I use Malwarebytes Anti Malware and AVG Free. I haven’t installed any except the standard Windows firewall. Being cautious about downloads and sources works well for me. Stick to familiar senders in emails and basic common sense keeps things safe.

I don't have access to current external links or download pages. You can check the official AVG website or trusted tech sites for the free version availability.

I recently looked into this and discovered Panda Anti-Virus is a strong option—it's free and hasn't caused any problems for me. I plan to use MalwareBytes occasionally to scan my system, though I usually don’t encounter anything.

there isn't anything like the top choice... the average gets a lot of attention but I personally don't prefer it. however, this list works well for free antivirus solutions. 1. COMODO (you might want his second firewall if you're cautious) 2. Avast (offers thorough and slow scans) 3. Avira 4.AVG >... most popular yet my opinion says it's not the best. 5. Bitdefender (the paid option is considered the best for malware protection) now you can use MalwareBytes, HitmanPro, Spybot. whenever you run a scan, it's wise to switch to safe mode.
